Seaside Province

personal project

These images were taken in Qingdao, in China's Shandong province. I was on a trip with my brother who lives in Beijing, and he wanted to escape the city. Qingdao (or Tsingtao, as it is perhaps better known) has an urban population of just over six million people, and boasts such attractions as the world's longest sea bridge; hardly an escape, if you ask me, but interesting nonetheless. Looking back on these images, I feel the clammy spray of the Yellow Sea and recall the taste of handcrafted dumplings stuffed with Spanish Mackerel.
